Historical Fairvue Plantation
Diandian + Taylor
I loved getting to know this couple. This was one of the shorter planning projects I've worked on and working with a couple who live in China offered a few challenges. Time was definitely not on our side. But I know Taylor's mother, Marcie, so we made it happen.
It all started with a few Pinterest photos, but like most couples, what I see on Pinterest and what I see from their engagement photos don't match up. I saw sleek, polished elegance paired with a love for natural beauty. And, intense, focused love.
An elegant and traditional outdoor lake front setting filled beautiful greenery, gardens and cottages. We wanted to maximize the natural elements paired with the rich, historical architecture. This element of nature will be carried in throughout the reception area with shades of blue, romantic style garden arrangements and natural foliage. We wanted more modern, refined seating for the ceremony area versus the wooden folding chairs the venue offered. This was inspired by the sleek black dress worn by the bride in the photo below.
Although bright pink and navy were the preferred colors of the bride and groom, we wanted to create a rich color palette that would work well with the fall scenery, lake, historical setting and the sleek dress worn by the bride during the ceremony. We wanted the bride and groom to be the focus, then the gorgeous lake.
